Questions
Fair questions, plain answers.
If your question is not here, ask it in your early access request and a person will answer.
Who makes Fair Point Law?
GovSoft, LLC builds and operates Fair Point Law. It is a new product in early access, so a small group of firms are using it while the roadmap fills in.
Is Fair Point Law a law firm?
No. Fair Point Law is software for law firms, and it does not give legal advice. Your attorneys stay responsible for the advice and filings your clients see in the portal.
Whose brand do clients see?
Yours. The portal and the sign-in page carry your firm's name, logo and colors. A small note in the footer says the portal runs on Fair Point Law.
Does it replace my practice management system?
Not necessarily. Many firms keep billing and trust accounting where they are today, and use the portal as the client-facing layer for IP work.
How are deadlines calculated?
Each date comes from the governing rule, the dates on the matter and the events you record, such as the date an office action issued. Every computed date shows its authority. Attorneys can override a date with a recorded reason, and should always confirm critical dates.
Can a client's AI assistant use it?
Yes, with limits. A firm can give a client's assistant a scoped, read-only key for status and deadlines. Sealed documents are never available to it.
What does early access cost?
Firms in the early access group receive pilot pricing. Request a spot and we will go over the details when we talk.
